Journal entry by Rebecca Savage

Everyday at the Med I looked for anything positive!!! I feel that God has given me the best gift ever which is my son and anything else is just a wonderful added bonus! As Jesse and I talked while he was at the med he talked a lot about his wreck.  He said as his truck started to flip he just started praying to God. He ask him to please not let him die. I could only imagine how scared and terrified he was.  Well as clothes fell on top of Jesse and he was pinned by his truck he kept praying. Brian Billings was delivering mail and was the one who found Jesse.  He sat and prayed with him and I’m telling you God was already there with him! Cindy Bauder was the first responder who was next at the scene.  She literally lives about 1 min away from where Jesse wrecked. I truly believe that God had the right people at the right time with my baby.  With their help and prayers and God my baby did not die.  I cannot tell you how eternally grateful I will always be to them and also Medic One🙏🏼. Jesse was flown to the Med and Garrett Baugh drove me, Pres, and Tay to meet him there. As soon as we arrived they informed me Presley could not even come in so Taylor’s boyfriend and Garrett took her out while we stayed to find out what was actually going on.  The chaplain came in to be with us and I thought to myself I don’t know if Jesse is going to make it. When they finally got him into the trauma intensive care unit they let me and Eddie see him and our significant others.  Since I don’t have a significant other they allowed me to pick someone so I took Taylor with me❤️ we were only allowed to stay for just a little while each then we all had to leave except one parent.  We agreed Eddie would take the first 24 hour shift and me and him would alternate as long as Jesse was there. So I took my first shift April 1st. I felt so much anxiety and nervousness.  I decided right then I am going to pray and ask God to give me strength, peace, and calmness.  I told God I was just so thankful he let Jesse live and no matter what the outcome I would be forever thankful and I would always be here for my son!!!  I cannot tell you the peace that came over me.  I was given strength to come in everyday and be there for Jesse and be positive, encouraging, and the calm he needed.  I just smiled so big every single time I sat in his room with him bc I was so fortunate to have him here with me! It made me so thankful to God!!!!!
