Journal entry by Valerie Torgerson

Jerry's three kids; Valerie, Jerome, Josh and Jerry's girlfriend Tammy, would all like to share with everyone what is happening with Jerry's health.

A mass was found on his left lung in November 2019. A biopsy was done and confirmed it was cancerous. Surgery soon followed to remove the mass. Unfortunately, it has spread to his lymph nodes and has metastasized to his shoulder and hip.

The mass removed from his lung is called spindle cell carcinoma; A very rare lung cancer with no known cause. He is now in stage IV lung cancer and starting chemo. Radiation is no longer an option, as their is now pleural effusion (fluid in lungs caused from cancer).

Currently, we are awaiting follow-up appointments for the best plan to move forward. For now, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as we do our best to make him comfortable and surrounded by family and friends.

We are setting up a Go-Fund-Me site to help defray the costs of day to day personal care by family.
