Jerry’s Story

Site created on November 1, 2023

Welcome to our CaringBridge website.  Dad was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease  in May of 2020 and an additional diagnosis of Parkinson's disease in November of 2022. However, we began to notice him having issues in 2019. Dad (Jerry) has always been the life of the party, sharing laughs and jokes. He loved golf, bow ties and grilling. These diseases have robbed him of speech and mobility. His ability to communicate was hindered so quickly along with his mobility. My mom has been his primary caregiver and works hard everyday to assure he has all of what he needs.  Within the last month, he has become bed-ridden and relies on my mom for all of his needs. He is still eating (he chokes often) and drinking.  They now reside in Summerville closer to Jessica and myself.  This page is a way to keep everyone updated. Please feel free to leave comments and prayers.   Thank you!

Jerry is now bedridden  and having a hard  time holding a fork. I'm feeding him if I don't have finger food for him. He is a very gentle soul.
