Welcome to Jerrod’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportI haven't stopped and filled anyone in on progress in a while and thought it was due. Firstly, I want to say thank you to everyone who has been praying for us, we feel the support and love every day and are regularly overwhelmed by how everyone has come together and care for us in so many ways.
Home life is not normal, but it's starting to look a lot less like a hospital, and more like a normal home around here. Since my last update, we have been on a waitlist to get Jerrod in for physical therapy and occupational therapy. He was able to attend and complete his needed speech therapy at Kadlec. They determined that they no longer had any more speech therapy exercises that would benefit him further. She told us to expect differences as he continues to heal, but that it has been a miracle to see how quickly his brain function has healed.
We ended up moving him to Lourdes outpatient rehab for physical and occupational therapy because Kadlec's waitlist was too long. He had his first appointments this week and I believe that the benefit has been tangible in his function. The last few days have even been largely improved. He is now much more "normal" and active on his phone and Facebook, helping around the house and enjoying the time with family. Now it's a matter of waiting for pain to subside as well as regaining motion.
We are tired as a family, but so grateful to see him improving. Our focuses are rest, healing, and finding new normal so we can settle into how things look for now.
