(copy from day 1 of the accident)
Approximately 3:15 am on Saturday, September 9th, Jeremy hit a deer while traveling on Co Rd 10 near Warba,MN on his motor bike.  He started receiving medical attention for severe head trauma on the scene about 3:55 am.  From there he was intubated, sedated and transported by ambulance to Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids and transferred immediately to the Life Flight helicopter.  He was flown 90 minutes to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

When Jeremy arrived in Fargo, he was admitted into the ER for head trauma. They did a CT scan and discovered that he had some bleeding around his brain above his right eye and a couple of small fractures in the back of his head. His brain had shifted and had swelling on both sides.  Thankfully no other injuries to the rest of his body!  (He was wearing his leather jacket, jeans and boots). Moved to ICU approx 10 am. Neurosurgeons continuously monitored him in the need for surgery as it can be life threatening at any time.

They kept him sedated, intubated/100% on the ventilator and a neck brace. About noon they treated him for a fever with meds and ice packs, then cooling pads.  He tried to open his eyes.  A VERY good sign!!

About 2:00 pm he had a second CT scan.

The neurosurgeon(Dr. Keep) came in about 3:30 pm with the CT results...devastating news! He had a significant increase of bleeding in his brain.  He needed to have surgery right away for his best chances of surviving.  They were going to remove his left flap of his skull and fix everything that they could.  The surgery could be up to 6 hours before we would see him again.

The surgery started around 5pm and ended about 8:30pm.  The surgeon was very happy with how everything went!! We were able to see him again about 9:00pm.  Thank GOD!!

Update:
Jeremy is doing well at Hagburg group home in Duluth. He started in home PT, OT, and speech again after a break. He's getting stronger at walking with a walker. They are switching his seizure med from Depakote back to Kepra in hopes he stops having seizures.  Pray he doesn't get the agitation side effect from kepra. He's been spending time outside and going for car rides.
He got his favorite Wendys Baconator yesterday and couldn't have been happier. Thank you all for your continued support!
