Jeremy’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

The new year started with a new pain in Jeremy’s lower abdominal/pelvic area. It wasn’t a sharp pain, just a dull ache and he thought he had a hernia.

In April he started losing weight but didn’t think anything of it. It was starting to get hot in FL so he was eating less and sweating a lot at work. At this same time, his bowel movements changed, but he didn’t think anything of it because he wasn’t eating much. Fast forward to June. What he thought was hernia pain started to affect his work. About every 4 days he would have terrible gas pains, so bad he couldn’t stand up. With being in so much pain, he knew he needed to get this hernia taken care of so he made an appointment to see the doctor. His doctor ordered an Ultrasound to see why he was in so much pain. The ultrasound showed a “little bit of blockage”. A CT scan was ordered to see the blockage and revealed a 6cm mass and colitis. A colonoscopy was ordered and scheduled for August. Jeremy received a call shortly after informing him they moved the date for his colonoscopy to Friday, July 15, 2022. During his colonoscopy the mass was so large the doc couldn’t get the scope around it to view the backside. He was immediately admitted to the hospital and had surgery two days later. The surgeon removed a portion of his colon, several lymph nodes and scraped a few spots from the fatty tissue surrounding the area. The diagnosis is stage 3 Colon Cancer.

He went from thinking he had a hernia to having colon cancer. He is only 41 years old! Why would cancer enter his mind?

Jeremy has a difficult road ahead of him and asking for help is uncomfortable which is why we started a GoFundMe page. All monies received will help relieve some of the financial stress of the mounting medical bills and living expenses so he can concentrate on beating cancer and healing.

We are truly grateful to all the amazing people showing such love and kindness through prayer, hugs, smiles, positive texts, and check-ins. Please keep them coming as they are so appreciative.

We believe that God has a plan in all this and He has the power of healing.

Thank you for coming to his website.  We will do our best to keep this updated so you can keep up with this journey.

Jeremy,

Birthdays are a time for new beginnings! Every day, I pray that God gives you more strength than he did yesterday. You've been dealing with so much for so long. The worry, treatments, and stress are exhausting, and it's genuinely awful to deal with. But throughout it all, you've always been one of the bravest people I know. Your life is a great inspiration to everyone around you.

Today is a celebration of you, the joy you bring, and the wonderful person you are. We love you so much and wish you a very Happy Birthday!

Dear Family and Friends,

Round two of chemotherapy started yesterday, which unfortunately coincided with Jeremy's birthday weekend. He is feeling exhausted and drained, with barely any energy. By the time he recovers, it will be time for another round of chemo. Jeremy has a scan scheduled for June 7th.

Thank you for your continued love, prayers, and support.

Jesus, I trust in You!
