Journal entry by Jen Shoemaker

Hey all,
If you are following my journey I thank you. So many prayers and well wishes has really got me though the last  few weeks.💕.

Today I post from Mayo Clinic hospital in Phoenix. A top notch organization for sure.   Unfortunately I did not get though as 100% outpatient.

Today I’m transplant day +11.  I hear it gets only better from here.    It has been a rough 10 days but I’m getting stronger every day.   My pre transplant bone marrow biopsy told my team I am cancer free. 🎉After a couple day process to collect my stem cells ,(easy peasy!) they did a super nasty round of chemo to wipe out my bone marrow just to kill any stragglers that may not show up in the biopsy.  This nasty round kills every thing in its path so that’s why I now can sport my bald head. Pic2 is the fun wig I picked up.

Transplant day was pretty uneventful. They gave my my cells back via IV.  Now hopefully by day 11 they are engrafting.
Thanks again for all the well wishes.  It’s for sure now that I am so blessed with beautiful friends and family members, not to mention what an amazing care taker Paul has been. He unfortunately can’t un see some of the things he has witnessed. Hopefully it’s all up from here!

With much love,
Jen
