Jenie’s Story

Site created on March 15, 2024

For those who are not aware earlier this week my sister was diagnosed with Cervical Vulvar Cancer. If you know Jen, you know this has completely rocked her and she is very overwhelmed trying to navigate everything that this diagnosis brings. The outpouring support she has already received has been such a blessing. Many have reached out asking to help, we have set up several options for those who would like to. We have also set up a CaringBridge to follow along on her Journey.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Jen Ridings

We finally have a treatment plan! Woo hoo. This excites me because I am so ready to be well. Yesterday I had surgery to remove my lymph nodes, it was a beating. This will be my second night in the hospital, but the nurses and doctors couldnt be any kinder. Oh, and the morphine helps, haha. After I finish recovering from surgery, I will start eight weeks of radiation every day, with chemo as well once a week. I am worried about how I will feel, but I’m going to try to take it day by day. Little update, nothing too new..

Just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and cards, meals, etc. I am so so grateful for the love I have felt from all our friends and family. We appreciate you more than you know. My spirits have been lifted and I am hopeful.
I love you all,
Jen
