Sign In to Show Your SupportStick a fork in me because I'M DONE!!!!! Today was my last day of radiation! 30 rounds, 6 weeks!
My skin is also done . . .slow cooked, seared, sous vide, braised, broiled, pan fried . . .you get the picture!
All the emotions started to seep out when I was lying on that table for the last time, tears dripping from my eyes but I had to remain still during radiation! My team of specialists was just that, SPECIAL. Josh, Megan, Britt, Lisa and others were so kind, caring, fun and always treated me with such respect, I will never forget them. I am so lucky and grateful that I live so close to the hospital because going there 5 days a week for 6 week grew old but I can only imagine what others go through who live farther away. Yet again, Froedtert shined and made everything as easy as possible.
Huge thank you to my radiation doctor, Dr. Kelly -she is great and down to earth. We look at my boob and then talk shoes and purses, I may have turned her on to Social Threads too! (One of my favorite places to shop online!)
I am spent, emotionally and physically, but its all part of this journey to becoming cancer-free. I am proud of my body for withstanding so much and mentally/spiritually I think I will be forever changed for the better.
Now, what I would really like to do is hibernate! I would love to eat a giant meal and crawl into a cave and sleep my ass off for several months and come out feeling back to normal! I just need to check a few things off my to do list : major house renovation, 2 kids in soccer, 1 kid in club volleyball, a full time job, a dog, an almost 16 year old . . . . that cave is going to have to wait!
But things are looking up! Each day is a little better than the last and that's a pretty amazing feeling!
Definitely RUNNING TOWARDS LIFE! WOO HOO!
Much Love,
Jenny
