Journal
As most of you know it's been a rocky start (even for a cancer diagnosis). I've had weeks of hospital stays, over a month for the diagnosis and then chemo #1 and 6 straight days of nausea with everything that goes with that. On to chemo#2 where my amazing oncologist fixed the nausea but then I still had other side effects. Unfortunately, I really never recovered from #2 and it was not until I ended up back in the hospital did we discover I had contracted c-Diff. It's a nasty infection but explained everything and now that it is being treated, I am slowly getting my stamina back and even able to eat again.
Throughout all of this there has been some positive news from both MCV Massey and Johns Hopkins. When I complete this round of chemo treatments -- there are 6 and will end in early August, I will get new scans. At that point I will meet with both cancer centers again and discuss options for trials et al. My oncologist is very supportive and encouraging for me to work with them.
Now you are all caught up and we will keep you posted with news and updates.
