Journal entry by Jennifer Ennis —
Since the last post, Jen has had a CT scan and a PET scan. After some ambiguity on the CT scan, the PET scan showed "No definite evidence of metastatic disease." We are rejoicing at this result!
Her next appointment with the oncologist will be in three months. Between now and then, she is continuing alternative treatments to help keep the cancer from returning. The standard immunotherapy drugs that she would normally take as maintenance drugs have produced side effects that are not doable. Overall Jen is doing well. Her SIBO is still an issue, but having a "break" from cancer is sure a relief!
So how do we celebrate? Well, trips help. We have always wanted to see the Grand Canyon. May 1-8 we'll be there as well as Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park which are close by. Seeing the natural wonders that God has created always blesses our souls.
Thanks for your prayers! Please continue to pray for:
- Wisdom for health care decisions.
- For Jen's body to bounce back from the 16 chemo treatments and major surgery
- Deep sense of daily peace in His presence.
- Grace as we seek to live out our trust in God in the world around us.
We are so thankful for each of you who are following Jen's journey! We know God has heard your prayers. God is good!
Here's a passage that encourages our hearts about Jesus.
And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:8-11
