Jennifer’s Story

Site created on July 8, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. .Last August I had a terrible stomach and told Scott I needed to go to the ER. they thought I had diverticulitis and needed to remove a portion of my colon. A few days later, while I am all alone they came and told me I had colon cancer. 10 days later I was released but after a few days the stomach ache returned so back to the ER I went, this time to find out I had a blood clot in a dangerous place, I was not allowed any food or water and given a 20% chance to survive the clot, again given this information all alone iin my hospital room. I was to sick for chemo and had to learn how to feed my self intravenously for 2 months so the clot could develop new veins. This worked and in November I could start to eat again and started 6 months of chemo. The chemo didn't work but left me with permanent neuropathy. Since the tumors had metastasized and were still growing which changed the plan to no longer trying to cure me but just trying to treat the symptoms. We decided to try another type of chemo and that's when I started this site. Thanks for all your support and prayers
