Journal

Hello!  Thank you for visiting!!  With October being recognized as "Breast Cancer Awareness Month," I thought it would be a good opportunity to share my own breast cancer "journey."   I truly hope it helps someone else manage their own diagnosis, or helps a caregiver with their loved one's diagnosis.   Not only that, but to emphasize the importance of early detection and "getting the girls checked regularly."   Cancer is scary, no matter what part of the body, and is just as much mentally exhausting as it is physically.  The support you receive from friends and family is so important.

I've kept a personal journal of my own experience since the very beginning, and will be uploading some of those entries, as well as my current thoughts, as I am now post treatment.   I've been told for years, I should "write a book."   Well, this is not a book, but writing about it has helped me get through this diagnosis, and kept me in a good place mentally.   From the beginning, I have ask God to show me how to turn this scary "journey" into something positive, not only for myself, but also for others.  So, here we (God and I) are, typing up my crazy thoughts, my most personal and emotional moments, and hoping to educate and help others understand.   I will give you some background medical info on me, how my breast cancer was found, my decisions for my surgeries, my decisions of the treatment I sought and how that went, why I refused chemo, why I had a hysterectomy, why I changed oncologists mid-way through, and bring it all to the present day.   I am literally sharing EVERYTHING about this experience with you; even my most vulnerable and scared moments, and even some of my doctor's notes, radiology and pathology info.

Please visit and read each entry at your leisure.   I welcome questions, and will answer all.  Feel free to share this "blog" with anyone you think would benefit from it.   Please know this is NOT something you need to donate to or anything like that.   All I ask for is good thoughts, and continued prayers, not just for me, but for all who are fighting this disease.  I could not have got through this without the prayers, support and encouragement of my friends and family.  I love and appreciate each of you!

I'm saying good night for now, and will write/type more tomorrow.

~ Jennifer
