That and the chemo pills caused more fatigue than I expected and the pain in my hips actually got worse because of the radiation causing inflammation of the muscles. I continue to fight both of those side effects but hopefully not much longer. 

While I am familiar with chemo, radiation has been a learning experience.  The big round disk thingy, hovers over my hips and rotates to the areas it is targeting. I hear a loud noise that lasts for about 3 seconds. Then it moves to the next area. I don’t see or feel anything.  How in the world the radiation stays contained until it entires my body and directly to where the cancer is absolutely blows my mind. 

As I was pondering this, I thought of the Holy Spirit.  We don’t see him. We don’t hear Him and we don’t feel Him. 

However, He is in me, working on my heart, mind, body and soul.  He has my best interest in mind.  During the  trials and the pains I experience, He is bringing peace comfort and joy.  He empowers me to keep trusting God. He strengthens me. Just as the radiation kills the cancer cells and allows new cells to take their place, the Holy Spirit brings reveals to me the areas in my life that aren’t pleasing to the Lord, the “stuff” I worry too much about, the critical and negative thoughts.  He doesn’t do this to condemn me but to convict me to get rid of the negatives so I can be free from guilt, bitterness, anger, shame…..

And sometimes there is pain before the healing. But when healing comes, there are no regrets, only joy peace and freedom.  

Now for the finale:  because of your prayers for me, my family and the treatments my tumor markers dropped 410 points after just 2 weeks of chemo pills and 10 radiation treatments!!!
