Journal

Hi all,

It has been a while, but I wanted to give everyone an update about me because today officially marks two years since my last surgery. The time has gone by so fast and so many crazy things have happened in the world in the last two years.

Throughout the pandemic, myself and my family were feeling so thankful that my surgery was in 2019 and not 2020. My heart goes out to all of those who have had to endure healthcare issues during the pandemic. I cannot imagine the hardships that may have come as a result and my thoughts and prayers are with all those who have been affected by covid-19.

For those who don't know, I graduated from Michigan State last year and started nursing school a few months later in Cleveland, Ohio. I am currently finishing my third semester and have one more semester until I am officially done! It has been my dream to be a nurse since I was about 11  (shoutout to Victory Junction and North Star Reach). Seeing the healthcare professional side of things has just been amazing. I know I am exactly where God wants me to be and I have so much peace about what the future holds. I am currently working as a nursing aide at Cleveland Clinic and will soon be applying for a full-time RN position there. I am interested in neurology and of course cardiology, specifically ICU and pediatrics, but am just really excited for the opportunity to start my career at the #2 hospital in the world!

As for my heart, I am doing great. I had a visit with my team at UofM in May with an echo, EKG, and also wore a heart monitor for a few days. My heart is healthy, blood is still flowing through the "new" conduit, and my oxygen is the highest it has ever been. Surgery anniversary days always make me feel so grateful for life, health, and all God has blessed me with. Thank you to all those who have prayed for me, thought of me, and sent your love and well wishes. My family and I are so blessed by the outpouring love we have received from family and friends throughout all of my surgeries.

With love,
Jenna

2 Corinthians 1:4
"He comforts us in all our troubles, so that we may be able to comfort those in any kind of trouble, with the same comfort we ourselves receive from God."

Isaiah 41:10
"Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
