Jennifer’s Story

Site created on March 12, 2019

If you’ve come to get real, raw and funny updates as I battle Stage IV Colorectal Cancer, you are in the right place!

But fair warning to those of a more delicate nature, you will read profanity, humor and sarcasm in my posts. If you know me at all, that shouldn’t come as any surprise (soul of a mermaid, mouth of a sailor).

My goal is to share the extreme ups and downs a cancer warrior experiences as they battle for their life AND to raise awareness of colorectal cancer and it’s rising diagnosis rates at an advanced stage in younger people.

Leave a comment or words of encouragement (extreme sarcasm and crude humor welcome)!

Journal entry by Jennifer Rogers

Asking for help is never easy. Especially for me. But, I'm here... asking for help.

As many of you know, I've taken medical leave for the duration of my chemo treatments. The side effects of the chemo have gotten stronger and made "normal" things very difficult. Some days, I can't even look at food, let alone cook for Mike and the kids. Mike is working 12+hour days and the kids are learning to cook with my supervision, but sometimes it is hard for me to even have the energy to get out of bed.
It's hard to ask for help, but... I need help. If you'd like to cook us a meal, it would be greatly appreciated. Even if it's not something I feel like eating, I can be at ease knowing Mike and the kids are eating more than cereal or frozen chicken nuggets every night.

You can sign up to provide a meal by visiting my Mealtrain site.

Included at the link are some of my current likes and dislikes (#chemotings).
