Journal

Busy week in the Levi household.  On Saturday, Jake became a Bar Mitzvah, which in the Jewish religion is the passageway into being recognized as a Jewish adult.  Jake wrote his D’var Torah, his speech describing what his Torah portion means to him, about the idea of getting a fresh start.  That is, the act of "moving on from the past, hitting reset and recalibrating toward the future."  Very apropos.

This will be our last blog post for awhile.  Yesterday, I had a small procedure on my hand for my trigger finger and carpal tunnel and, just a few hours ago, I had my medi-port removed!  In Levi fashion, we did the ritual walk around Wegmans before hitting up MSK.  Great to have Emily by my side for this trip.  And for those with a particular eye for detail, I wore the same blue t-shirt with a wide-neck for virtually every chemo and cancer-related medical event, including today.   Not yet sure if I should keep or destroy the shirt - time will tell.

This officially closes a very difficult chapter of our life and signifies the clean start we need to focus on the path ahead.   I know I still have scans and checks for four more years, but am optimistic they will continue to be uneventful!

So thank you for your ongoing support and followership! It made a huge difference in our lives and we hope to pay it forward to others in need.  Hope to see you all soon!!
