Jeffrey’s Story

Site created on February 2, 2022

On May 2nd 2021 Jeff was in a motor vehicle accident on his way from Wyoming, MN to Virginia, MN. Jeff went off the road into the median, flipped his truck and crashed into some trees. His heart had stopped on impact, and he had fractured multiple vertebrae and distended his spine. Passerby's were able to flip the vehicle and pull him to safety. Jeff was then resuscitated via two off-duty EMTs and then airlifted to St. Mary's hospital in Duluth. Jeff was diagnosed with a severe spinal cord injury that made it unclear whether he was going to survive. Jeff was then faced with a possible brain injury and it was unclear if he'd be able to breathe without a ventilator. After the ventilator was removed and he was breathing successfully on his own, Jeff faced some major procedures and has come out of this tragic event completely sound of mind. Jeff is now classified as a quadriplegic, with no current use of his lower body or fingers. He has a long journey of healing ahead and is hopeful that one day he will be able to use his hands again. Jeff has maintained a positive attitude throughout this experience and constantly is working hard to get better. Support and well wishes to Jeff are always appreciated and welcomed. We wish to keep all family and friends informed on his journey and show Jeff that we are all cheering him on.
