Journal entry by Jeffrey Roos

Hi...well, the surgery has been scheduled.  I will go under the knife on Thursday, July 11 at 7 am.  The procedure is complicated and requires 2 if not 3 valves to be replaced.  Once they have opened the area they will know if it will be 2 or 3 and will replace all that is needed.  The valves in question are the Mitral, Arotic and Tricupus  The lead surgeon is Dr. Glenn Eqrie and his assistant is Dr. Katie Fields.  I will proceed to ICU for 2, 3 or 4 days and remain in the hospital for 3 plus days to evaluate my needs and then home.  My daughter, Apphia will stay with me for the first 2 weeks and then my sister, Therese will be with me for an additional 2 1/2 weeks.  I look forward to playing bridge during recovery!!  I will be up and walking and should feel pretty good in 10+ days and after 3 months back to a new normal.
