It’s been awhile since we’ve provided an update on my Dad and his progress on his journey of healing. He wanted to share an update and express his sincere gratitude for all of the support and prayers. Our family is so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives. Here’s an update from him -
I'm well enough to write my own update more details in just a bit. First, I would like to say thank you to everyone for your prayers, your kind words of encouragement, your financial support to help ease the burden of our medical bills, and mostly the love you have shown for myself and my family. We can’t thank you all enough! Medically, the progress has been very slow relative to my hopes and expectations. I am able to walk now without my walker, I do have a very bad limp and a lot of pain in both knees, ankles, and feet. One of the hardest things is going from sitting to standing. I have to be very careful where I sit because I can't get out of low sitting chairs. I have been able to do some biking and weight lifting, trying to gain some strength and mobility back. We have a friend down here in Florida who has overcome her own tragic injuries from a terrible accident, she tells me I really need to give it a year for my recovery. With that thought in mind, I know I must be patient and continue to build strength, and progress with my walking. Looking forward, I will still need a total knee replacement on the right side. I'm not ready to even think about that yet. Once again, thank you to all of you who have shown your love and support to us. ❤️
