Journal
Happy New Year everyone! Sorry we haven't posted in awhile, it was a busy December.
We don't have a whole lot to report other than Jeff has completed all of his treatment! He is relieved to be done.
He has also discontinued physical therapy and has started working out on his own.
He had some additional kidney stones blasted (lithotripsy) in the middle of December and recently passed those. He also had his port removed a couple weeks back.
The main issue is still neurological with the core, legs and feet. He plans to meet with a neurologist some time in the coming weeks to get more feedback on his situation and what to expect going forward.
We hope for continued improvement as slow as it may be.
Jeff had a follow up yesterday with his oncologist and his blood work looks good and all of the chemo drugs should be completely out of his system at this point.
Check ups every 3 months for the next year. Then every 4 months in the second year. Then every 6 months thereafter. The oncologist says the highest probability of the cancer coming back is in the first couple years, so regular check ups are important.
Outside of that Jeff gets to have his wisdom teeth out Friday. He started to have some discomfort with his teeth during his last 2 rounds of treatment. While there isn't necessarily a direct correlation the doctors said it is a possibility.
We hope this will be the last hurdle for a long long time..
We will update if there is any major news moving forward, so hopefully you won't be hearing from us anytime soon.
We once again thank everyone for being involved the last 6 months. The help, care, encouragement, thoughts and prayers. It has meant so much to us and we could not have done it without you. Much love and respect to all.
Jeff & Ashley
