Journal entry by Heidi Hebert —
Jeff came home today!!! We have discovered quite a bit over the last week.
Unfortunately, the plasmapheresis was not as successful as we had hoped, and now we have discovered that Jeff may have been misdiagnosed last year when we were in Tennessee.
Our new neurologist ran a panel of bloodwork to check his levels for the Myasthenia Gravis. Well, all of those tests came back NEGATIVE! They have not completely ruled out myasthenia, but the team of doctors that have been consulted on Jeff's health are doubtful that this is what he has.
Needless to say, we have been through yet another whirlwind of emotions over the last couple of days. We have lived the last year thinking it was one thing and now it may be something else completely.
We have a number of appointments scheduled in the next couple of months and hopefully we can get a clear diagnosis. The doctors here still want us to go to the Duke University clinic so we can get her on Jeff's care team as well. I love that they want to collaborate with her.
As always, please continue to pray for us through this journey. It is not easy, but we are taking one step at a time.
Love,
Heidi
