Tomorrow, Debbie and I will be going to Concord to help Sydney pack up her classroom. It's hard to grasp that after tomorrow, the next place she will teach will be Colorado. I am sad of course, but excited for their adventure. Also excited to visit a state I've never been. They will be in Colorado next week for interviews (Sydney) and to look at places to live. Nathan started his job in May so that's going well so far.

I say (often these days) that I just don't understand how these kids think... and I'm surrounded by other parents of 20-30 year olds who say the same thing. They just think differently than we do/did. It's not necessarily "wrong"... but it's so incredibly different. I would never have considered uprooting a life I loved to move more than halfway across the country to a new state where I might know 4 people to start a new life that I am intentionally only planning to live there for a year or two... knowing that moving back to NC is in my future. It's different way of living for sure!

Thank you God that we are all made differently. It would be boring if we all had the same plans and the same dreams. Thank you God that we live in a time where Facetime, iphones and social media can keep us connected even if we are miles and states apart. Thank you God for Sydney and Nathan who keep me guessing!

Thursday, June 8 — Psalm 73:13–20
Proverbs 29; 2 Corinthians 9:10–10:6

Boaz said to Ruth, “May you have a full reward from the Lord, under whose wings you have come for refuge!” Ruth 2:12

Christ came and proclaimed peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. Ephesians 2:17

You are the author of all that is good, dear Lord, our ever-present source of comfort and strength. Use our lives, we pray, to be instruments of your peace and healing. Amen.
