Welcome to our CaringBridge website! We have created this page to keep our friends and loved ones updated in one place. On April 7, 2022, my mom was diagnosed with Triple Negative Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC). IBC is a rare and aggressive cancer that accounts for only 1% to 5% of all breast cancers. This cancer grows and forms in a matter of weeks, rather than months! Its symptoms, outlook, and treatment are different from any other breast cancer. IBC often does not cause a lump and is often not seen in mammograms, which makes this cancer very difficult to diagnose. IBC is always at a locally advanced stage when it's first diagnosed because the cells have grown into the skin. This means it's always at least a Stage III when it's diagnosed. We remain hopeful that the doctors are able to treat this cancer and we are grateful for the wonderful support she has already received from family and friends.
Due to the aggressive nature of this cancer, treatment needs to move quickly and we covet your prayers. Sometimes my mom won't feel up to responding to texts and phone calls, but that doesn't mean she doesn't love hearing from you!
We understand that many are looking for ways to help and we have provided some options in the "Ways to Help" section. We appreciate your prayers, support, words of hope, and encouragement. God is the Great Physician and we believe that this cancer isn't too big for Him! Thank you for visiting.
