Today, nine years later, another milestone hip-related event is celebrated.  Mom got her walking papers-literally! She was discharged to home in New York today at her four week follow up. We will come back in two months. She can walk in the house with or without her cane as long as she is comfortable and safe. She can walk outside with cane or walker - ditto. Her only assignment over the next two months is continuing walking, continuing her exercises, and not to fall!

She is up to nearly a mile between her cane walk & her walker walk outside & her inside activities!

 She can return to water fitness in two weeks when scar is completely healed. She can drive short distances!   She can do other travel as long as she stops and stretches every 90 minutes  This will stretch out our return trip tomorrow but seeing our home again will be well worth it!

kind if sounds like  a previous address - long long ago - or was that yesterday?  Mom & I agree that the time since returning from SC in April has been quite a time warp!

we  went out to a lovely dinner this evening with Calvin, Rick, and two friends to celebrate!! tomorrow, Rick flies back to Oregon and mom & I fly (well I mean drive  carefully-only slightly above the speed limit) back to our home in New York State!
