Journal entry by Paul Davis —
Jeanne died at 3:15 yesterday afternoon, January 1. It was a perfect ending. She was not in pain. She and I were together in her room at the hospice house, and I’m sure she was aware. Just the two of us. It was time. It felt right. She was beautiful at the end.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 12, at 2 pm, at the Woods Chapel Congregation, 500 NE Woods Chapel Rd, Lee's Summit, MO 64064. Jeanne wanted, instead of flowers, remembrances to be made to the Jeanne Davis Art Fund at Graceland University. It will be used to make an annual award to an art student at Graceland, and any contributions are tax deductible if people send them directly to Graceland University, 1 University Place, Lamoni IA 50140.
Thank you for going on this journey with us. She knew how many people were caring for her and our family from a distance. It made a difference.
