We wanted to wish everyone the very best for this holiday season. Everyone will be faced with events in their lives that will help you stop just going through the motions and really appreciate each and every day for what it can be and what you can do to bring a positive impact to other people's lives. That is the blessing this disease has brought to us. The support Jay has received over the last year has been overwhelming, tremendously uplifting and sincerely appreciated.

Her most recent blood work came back and her m-spike (the main indicator of the presence of cancer) remained the same at .1. Following her stem cell transplant in February, there was no sign of any cancer present until her November blood work. It was .1 at that time, so I see holding steady at .1 as a win. Jay was hoping to go back to no sign again, so perhaps her goals are higher than mine. At any rate, it is still considered to be in remission, so we celebrate these holidays like none other before. Perhaps those who follow her on facebook have that sense of her making the most of it.

She continues to have problems with extreme leg pain and appears some nerve damage in her back is the main culprit. We don't know if that is related to the myeloma or not and are waiting for the return of the oncologist to determine what next steps to take to deal with that. That will be in mid-January as he has been on leave for four months. Until that time and the subsequent update, we wanted to wish most of you a very Merry Christmas, some a Happy Hanukkah and to all of you a happy and healthy new year.
