Newest Update

Journal entry by Kristi Nolker

Hello everyone !! I have not updated everyone in quite a while. Mom had a minor accident while at work on the 2nd day of school as the bus monitor. She fell and broke her kneecap while working on the bus -  she has been a trooper and was pretty much immobile for 2
Months and not allowed to bear any weight on it. We had to learn new ways to shower - go to bathroom and we had so much help from her great friends. I cannot say thank you enough to everyone who helped out ! We took turns - she had friends stay the night and do so many things for her - easing things on us ! Her neighbor was a huge help as she is a home health nurse and wow - we could not have done this without her. Her other neighbors are like family and came to Ck on Grammy Jayne and visit , cook and do anything she needed. She is done with therapy as of last week and doing quite well. Friends Pam and Peggy were absolutely selfless and stayed nights during the week so we could work. Julene and Cindy were great to come and keep mom company during the day and help her ! So many angels !  Shes Back to work at Clark Pleasant schools transportation - she loves her job and is doing inside paperwork jobs for right now. We cannot say how great my moms friends are. It’s just so humbling !!

She had a pet scan last week - Dr Tim says things are stable and no new cancer growth ! We still concerned about a nodule in the left lung. He is not sure it is cancer without a biopsy but it is not growing or changing. Mom told him if he decides she needs another round of radiation she wants to do that - we trust him inexplicably ! The R lung is stable with the nodule. We are thankful and relieved the PET scan is over. They are nerve wracking and we are grateful for the good news. Let’s get this 2020 over with and move on to some GOOD things !  Thank you again for each of your prayers - to the Center Grove class of 64 thank you for helping and praying for Mom - I pray soon you will be back to your monthly get togethers!

In times like these you know that friends and family are the rocks in time of need. God bless you all !!
Love
Kristi
