Journal
Hello everyone. After giving this some thought I wanted to utilize Caring Bridge for our updates. Jayma’s journey continues but we are seeing some light at the end of this road.
As you know, Jayma suffered a seizure July 29th. An MRI And brain biopsy led to the discovery of her cancerous brain tumor, Glioblastoma. It grew rapidly to stage 4. After having surgery 80% of the tumor was removed. Since then Jayma has been receiving daily radiation treatments and taking a chemo pill each night. Her last day of radiation treatment is November 19th. We are looking forward to ringing the treatment bell in the radiation unit at Aurora. Chemo will remain and that will be taken one week each month moving forward. The anti-seizure meds will remain for most of her life now.
The entire Aurora team has been truly amazing to us. Our doctors, nurses and staff have treated us like family. The care and compassion has been heartwarming. We have developed friendships with everyone. Believe or not we look forward to going each day to see everyone.
Your love, prayers and support have made this journey much easier to travel. I have often said cancer isn’t and “I” thing. It’s a “we” thing. Everyone has been right there for us, from all over this country. It’s humbling and we both can never thank you enough for everything. This journey has been a roller coaster ride. But seeing Jayma handle this with confidence, optimism and strength makes me smile. She is strong. Our family is strong and we are all looking forward to saying we are cancer free.
Our family motto has been “Stay Positive”. We all wear that on a bracelet everyday. It’s the only way to live.
Love,
Jayma, Dan, Matt & Hannah, Chris & Mary, Lauren
