Journal entry by Teri Sutter

It’s hard to believe that it has been three months since Jayden entered remission, but he had his three-month scans done on Monday. He was admittedly pretty nervous. Today, Jayden, Monica and my mom met with Jayden’s doctors to review the results and discuss next steps.

Great news: Jayden’s tests came back clear! There is no sign of cancerous tumors. He will continue to take an antibiotic to fight infection and will return for another round of testing in three months. They will monitor him closely for the next year.

Last month, Jayden returned to school for half-days in order to complete his freshman year. He has caught up on his school work and has even begun to workout with the football team to get ready for sophomore football next year. He has developed an obsession for health and wellness and, selfishly, continues to inspire me to stay in shape. In addition to regaining his strength, he has also regrown his hair, and we celebrated when he had his first post-cancer haircut two weeks ago. He has definitely matured and seems to have grown from a young boy to a mature man in a very short time. He continues to inspire us everyday!

We are all looking forward to a summer full of family trips and relaxing together. We’ve definitely learned to celebrate and appreciate the little things in life. As always, thank you for your continued prayer and support!
