So here's where we are. On Friday morning Jason went in for surgery. The procedure was to drain an abscess on his colon. He also had an abscess that had attached itself to the bladder and so that part of the colon was removed. Apparently when they got in there, what they found was "a mess". So the surgery was a bit more involved than originally expected. All that being said he is progressing nicely. He had been on a clear liquid diet since Thursday and was finally cleared for regular food today at lunch time. He has a catheter and will need to keep that and the bag until Wednesday when we'll go back and have it removed. We were hoping for him to come home today but it is sounding more like tomorrow or Monday. Really hoping this is the end of his health issues for a while. Poor guy has been through the ringer.
