Journal entry by Colleen Reisdorf

Hey friends and family!

Jay did discharge on Saturday to our mom's house.  He made it there safely and is doing well.  It is a big adjustment for all since he needs so much care.  Our brother Jeff was able to spend a couple days/nights to help out.  Today Jeff and I got him showered for the first time.  It was a little comical.  Jeff gave him a "modesty towel" and I worked around that.  Between us the labor of love resulted in a much more comfortable and better smelling brother!  :)

On Saturday Rich and I made the drive to Starbuck to clean out Jason's room and attempt to retrieve his belongings.  It was really rough.  The whole place had been absolutely trashed.  Everything overturned, destroyed,  and spread about.  The guy flooded the room with several inches of water and with the high temps and only one small window air conditioner in the bedroom there was a ton of mold and mildew.  We took what clothes we though could be cleaned and saved, his pictures, and any other not destroyed items which amounted to very little.  We did get his golf cart loaded up and back on a trailer!

The police still have his wallet, ID, and phone.  We tried to retrieve those but they are still being processed with evidence so they wouldn't release any of it.

Today our friend Jo came and performed a Reiki session for Jay at the house.  We also had a visit from Mariah who came with lots of yummy baked ziti!

He is doing what he can to rest and heal and we are all doing what we can to help him.

Thank you all for your support and love!
