Newest Update

Journal entry by Jason Abramowski

As the ole saying goes "no news is good news."

It has been almost 10 months since my last post.  During this time, I have continued with chemo treatments but they have changed a little.  I have been on a "maintenance" program for about the last 8 months.  It consists of an hour infusion every three weeks and pills for two weeks, with one week off before restarting the sequence.  This will continue for the foreseeable future.

The cancer screenings continued during this time, which shows no signs of cancer in my colon or abdominal area, but still shows many small spots in my lungs.  Therefore, I am considered to be stage 4.  I will continue to have screenings every 3-4 months for the foreseeable future.

The above info may sound doom & gloomy but is instead really positive.  I count my many blessings that the "maintenance" treatment that I'm currently on is working.  It is not allowing the cancer grow or spread & the side affects are far fewer.  Not to say all the side affects are gone but they are more manageable.  Fatigue (on/off), little to no stamina and along with neuropathy (hands & feet) are still the main side affects.

With the "maintenance" program I have been able to do more (honey-do-list, exercise a little, coach, work around Trinity, etc) but I still "hit-the-wall" fairly quickly.  I learned the hard way that the "wall" can fall on you as well.  A few weeks ago I was taken via ambulance to the hospital for Heat Stress after working on Trinity's grounds.  Heat & high humidity along with chemo treatments makes the body really susceptible to heat related illness, even after drinking 120+ fl/oz of water.  I was/am extremely happy to have so many Trinity Staff assist/take care of me while I waited for the ride.

Thank you for the continued prayers and support over the many months, even without any updates from me.

I thank God and all of you for continue prayers, support & healing.
