Jasmine’s Story

Site created on February 7, 2020

Welcome to Jasmine's Caring-Bridge site.

Our journey began when Jasmine went in for a possible concussion January 24th. Her CT and MRI scans showed a mass in her brain, not connected with the possible concussion. The week of February 3rd she was referred to a pediatric neurologist at the Fargo Sanford Neuroscience Clinic and a pediatric oncologist at the Fargo Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center. They have taken samples of blood, performed a spinal tap and conducted another MRI of her brain and spine. As of now we do not know anything about this mass except it's size. It is about 1.2 cm big and they have only seen one. We are currently waiting for the referral process to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Jasmine hasn't been able to participate in hockey since this finding nor be in any physical sport. Nonetheless she is still very positive and in high spirits! She can still accompany her hockey team and support them.

Journal entry by Tracy and Shannon Carpenter

It was a great visit to see Jasmine's team at Mayo. Her tumor has not grown in fact, it may be a tish smaller. At any rate this is wonderful news. All of her neuro functions are normal and they are pushing out her frequency of MRI's to every 6 months now. We are so very thankful and happy.
