Janet’s Story

Site created on December 18, 2018

Jan was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in November 2018.  It is a rare form of bone cancer that has metastasized into her lungs.  Jan has a large tumor in her lower abdomen that wraps around her hip socket which prevents removal of the tumor without amputating her leg.  Jan has been a faithful servant of God throughout her diagnoses and days of pain and exhaustion.  She and her family have researched extensively, her treatment options and Jan is now in Tijuana, Mexico at a clinic undergoing superb alternative treatments with excellent track records for others, that are not approved her in the states by the FDA.  This treatment is effective, but expensive.  Jan's children have put together a GO Fund Me page for her treatment costs and we are all praying and asking for miracles to make this treatment a longterm reality.  Please, if you are able, give generously to this cheerful, loving and tireless servant of God.

Journal entry by Janet Shortt

Well, been waiting for the DNA report on mutations of cancer cells.  First Lab company sat on request for 3 weeks till Dr called looking for the report, sent to a different lab and waiting in Honor Health to get sample out of storage and get to lab for testing.   3% chance it has the mutation.  Much to decide and sooner than later.
Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers!   They are greatly appreciated and please continue to pray for me.
God bless y’all,
Jan
