Jann’s Story

Welcome to Jann's CaringBridge website. We're using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. My mom was admitted to the hospital on Nov. 27th and remained hospitalized until Dec. 27th, with the exception of 3 days. After many labs, tests, and procedures, she was diagnosed with B-cell Lymphoma. In her case, it's a very aggressive cancer. She was discharged from the hospital and transferred to a transitional care unit (TCU) where she'll remain until Jan. 9th, the date of her next chemo treatment. The goal of the TCU is to help her regain some strength prior to the treatment. We remain hopeful that the treatment will be effective and we're forever grateful for the wonderful support she has already received from friends and family via thoughtful cards in the mail, supportive words via Facebook, and caring visitors while she was at the hospital. Although she is fatigued, she continues to be as positive as possible. We appreciate your prayers, support, and words of hope and encouragement.

6-month check up: December 17, 2019

Last week, my mom had a CT scan and today we received the results: ALL CLEAR!
Her bloodwork was normal too. The oncologist so eloquently stated, "Your scan & your labs are quite boring." Who knew boring could be so awesome?! 

What a difference a year can make! 

Looking back on the calendar, a year ago today, was the worst day, of all the days, with my mom. On Dec. 17, 2018, I was told she was too sick to receive the treatment we had been desperately waiting on. Our window had closed and no expected it to re-open. Now fast forward to today... and she's cancer-free!! Wow, what a difference a year can make! 

We will forever say thank you for all the prayers, supporting words, meals, phone calls, text messages, etc. Our family has been blessed by your love and we're beyond grateful for our wonderful friends, family and co-workers. Thank you!
