Janine’s Story

Site created on July 9, 2021

Welcome to Janine's CaringBridge website. We are using it to tell the story of Janine's fight with ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) for her family and friends. It is a factual and, at times, detailed account of her battle. This might be difficult for some in this heartbreaking time so please enjoy the picture gallery instead. We wanted to expose this devastating disease that medicine has been aware of for over 100 years (1860s), yet very little is known about it and there has been no progress toward any type of cure. The estimated prevalence is 5 per 100,000 in the United States; approximately 30,000 Americans are currently battling the disease. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

In lieu of flowers, it would honor Janine to send a donation to either the Joe Martin ALS Foundation (Donate - Joe Martin ALS Foundation), the ALS TDI (Donate | ALS Therapy Development Institute), or University Hills Baptist Church (University Hills Baptist Church - North Carolina - Give).
