Journal entry by Shannon Olson —
Hello all! It's been awhile since I've posted; I hope you've taken that to mean "no news is good news." Mom continues to recover at home and has had several regularly scheduled visits back to Mayo. So far after each routine visit, she has reported that "things look good." She remains CANCER-FREE, which is the biggest thing. She continues with a drain in place since her pancreas is continuing to leak. That is kind of what they expected might happen (apparently this is pretty typical after a Whipple). She is up and about, has visitors, goes for walks, and is now even going to grandkids' activities when she feels good. She's still trying to put weight on, which is a challenge, but at least she's not losing anymore weight. She'll keep going back to Mayo for routine visits. She has made very good progress in her recovery and has stayed positive and hopeful. That's all for now. Thank you for your continued concern, support, and prayers.
