Journal entry by Susan Mitchell

Tuesday, January 29, 2019

There were 18 of us gathered around our mother’s bed tonight when we told her goodbye for the last time.  It was amazing to watch a person who is at peace in her relationship with God slowly pass from this world into the next. She was a testament to her faith through to her final breath.  We will miss her but will continue to learn and grow from the life lessons she passed on to all of us during her life time.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to Dr Brad Snodgrass for managing her care during this phase of her life.  He is a sensitive and thoughtful man and our mother really loved and respected him. She also received the most excellent care from the nursing staff on South 7 at Covenant Hospital.  The professional treatment we experienced on South 7 made the final moments of our mother’s life comfortable and full of love.

We also send heartfelt thanks for the loving care provided in her home by her friends and fellow nurses, Connie Thomman, Lisa Huggins and Sandra Wallace.  Together they made her last weeks more pleasant as they ministered to her with gentle kindness.  She thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing with them about their years working together in the Emergency Room.

Thanks to all who prayed for her and kept in touch through cards, calls and posting on her care sites.
She will be greatly missed but we know her legacy will continue to live on through her friends and family.

Services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11 am at Fifth Street Baptist Church in Levelland, Texas with pastor Chris Driver and Roy Prather officiating.
Please join us for family visitation from 6 to 8 pm at Krestridge Funeral Home, 505 Austin Street, Levelland, Texas
