Mom fell asleep and went to her Heavenly home tonight at 7 PM. She was in her room full of rowdy family there holding her hands and shedding many tears. We have been so fortunate to have her in our lives for 85 years, She has been such an inspiration and has left a lasting impression on all of us kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. These last 3 weeks have been a whirlwind of emotion for all of us. She was always thinking of the rest of us and kept saying that she was glad it was her, and not one of us. I shed many tears today for different reasons as well. I had one request and that was that she give my husband a huge hug from me and to tell him I loved and missed him. And the same request for Dad. We miss them and are happy for their Heavenly reunion. I told her that they are both probably there waiting with a table set up for pinochle ready to go. And also, she will have to bring Yuri’s “cheat sheet”with as he will be needing it now.
We are going to Watertown tomorrow to plan Mom’s memorial service. We will post the details but as of now we know that the service will be in Clear Lake on Saturday and the funeral home will be Crawford in Watertown. Burial will be in Goodwin, and the reception at the Goodwin Community Center.
Again, thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support everyone has shown. We are aware that she has touched others’ lives as well as ours, and that she is loved by many. Goodwin has and always will be her home with everyone there being “family”.
