Sometimes, life just doesn't go as planned...

Jan was brought to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon (yes, really, the same day) after displaying balance issues and stroke-like symptoms. There was no stroke or other issue of that nature... However, the MRI shows multiple lesions on her brain; the cancer has metastasized. 

Jan has opted not to pursue further radiation treatment. She hopes we all understand that she is not giving up and she does not want anyone to feel bad about her decision. She is just tired. 

She has moved in with her daughter and family, and is receiving excellent palliative care. 
This isn't what any of us had hoped for, but Jan is surrounded by family and loved ones.
