Jamie’s Story

Site created on October 11, 2022

WHERE WE START???  June 29th, 2022 is the day he entered Lake Region Health Care due to pain in his abdomen.  LRHC conducted several tests and determined he should be transferred to Sanford in Fargo.  He spent 4 days in the hospital being poked, prodded, and having scans taken.  He was discharged on Saturday, July 2nd.  The following week, test results confirmed Cancer in his bile duct and various lymph nodes.  He later had a PET Scan which confirmed our worst fears Stage 4 cancer in bile duct, liver, and lymph nodes.  The challenge ahead was and remains where did the cancer start.  The medical team has conducted many tests and scans to determine the initial source of the cancer to develop the optimal treatment plan, with no definite answers.

Chemotherapy was determined the best treatment plan.  Jamie started his first Chemo treatment in mid August.  The chemo plan is 8 cycles, receiving chemo one day a week for two weeks and then has one week off and the cycle starts again.  He has received 2 cycles to date.

We are so very sad to let everyone know that Jamie passed away last night. Our hearts ache but feel comfort that he no longer is in pain.
