Rochester has set us free!!!!!  Let me type that one more time...because I can!!

ROCHESTER HAS SET US FREE:)

Jamie's lab from yesterday looked fantastic (again, their words) with focus being on the liver and kidney numbers.  She had 2 appts this morning and when done Jamie asked when she would be able to leave Rochester for good.  They said "no reason to stay".  There is pharmacy appt that is scheduled for Thurs but they were able to make it a tele-meeting instead of in person.  Thank goodness!! We got back to The Gift of Life House around 10, packed up, did our checklist to leave the transplant house and we were on the road by noon.  No turning back.  The freedom I feel is undescribable.  I was starting to go a little batty but my sanity has been restored.

As I wrote last week, this will be my last post unless something drastically changes.  From the bottom of hearts we are thankful, grateful, humbled (wish I could find other words to use as I feel like I'm starting to overuse them...good thing it's my last post) by the way you all have rallied around us through your so many acts of kindness, prayers and generosity.  As parents, we only want to protect our children and hope and pray the choices they make won't hurt them too badly.  As parents, one of our worst nightmares almost came true.  We almost lost our oldest child.  God obviously has a plan for our dear Jamie and I will continue to trust Him to help her see her way through the forest while Bob and I will stand by and cheer her on from the sidelines.  No one said her road will be easy, but no one said life is supposed to be a bed of roses.  Many lessons have been learned from this and yes, many more will follow.  Most people do experience a dark or very difficult time in their lives and thankfully, most of us see it through to the other side with more clarity, strength, perseverance, compassion and love.  That is my goal for Jamie and the rest of our family.  We have been very blessed.

Love to all of you,
Gwen

PS...The pic says it all.  She is alive and smiling and walking and hopeful and LOVED!!!!
