James update November 13.

It’s all good!  James had sutures removed on Monday, November 11th.  Dr. Vega said it looks like his hair is growing back where the sutures were so maybe he won’t have a scar that would be visible once James’ hair grows back out.  We, however, think it is a beautiful war wound.  He is healing as well or better than expected but will still have to take it easy for a while.  The next appointment will be in February. He will continue with the anti seizure medication until then.  James is following the doctors’ orders knowing they have gotten it right so far.  Both, the terms AVM (Arteriovenous Malformation) and Cavernoma were used to describe the lesion that they removed from the left side of James’ brain.  The AVM is something that James has probably had since birth.  The pathology report came back no evidence of cancer or pre-cancer and that the blood that was removed was in a lot of different stages so the AVM would bleed and stop and then bleed.  Who knows how long this has been going on but we are so glad that it was removed!  We are happy and looking forward to getting back to “normal”!
