James’s Story

Site created on June 2, 2018

Jay is in the hospital waiting on a heart transplant. He has been successfully battling congestive heart failure since 2011-the year he had what we call the Lazarus Experience. He had an arrhythmia at a wedding rehearsal and went into sudden cardiac death. He was gone for over 40 minutes but God brought him back to give the world a testimony of faith and love. Jay accepted his call to ministry in 2012 and has been spreading God’s love and Word since that time. He is also a gifted saxophonist and soloist. In 2017, his heart started to decline and he was listed as a low level heart transplant candidate. On April 18, 2018 he went in for a heart cath and they kept him there because internal pressures were very high. He is still in ICU waiting on a heart.

Jay has been inspiring others as God inspires him on his journey to a heart transplant.  We will be sure to share his journal entries as a means to help someone else who may be dealing with a tough situation or rough waiting season.  You can also follow our ministry page at

We are humbled to be used by God for such a time as this. Please keep us in your prayers.
