Dear Adam Cheerleaders/Family/Friends,  Update on Adam:
We have been working hard to get Adam to have some strength in his right leg quadracep. We are seeing tiny bits of progress daily, but any progress is great news!! We still have deep paralysis in the right arm, but he is getting more and more feeling/pain in that arm. This is a good sign. Sadly our window of major progress is starting to slow down. We went to UCSF to see the Neuro Opthomologist and they gave Adam temporary glasses to help his eyes re-align. The only issue is that it's like breaking in Birkenstocks. He doesn't want to go through the rough  1st few weeks of new glasses until his eyes start to adjust. He keeps taking off the glasses. Each day Adam is getting stronger and stronger. It's slow , but in the right direction. Kahleb and I do daily workouts and Speech Therapy with Adam to keep up the progress.
Now...the most Critical and Important part : Adam is now becoming more and more aware of his situation and drastic change in his life moving forward. He is gets very emotional, sad, and depressed. He knows this is a very long road and slow process. The best thing that all of you can do for Adam, is to communicate with him! If you can, please come visit us in beautiful Napa. If that isn't an option, then PLEASE either Facetime or call him. He doesn't always get his phone in time, so please be persistent. His phone number : 209-347-9934. He fears that everyone has forgotten him. These communications are so critical and beneficial for Adam on so many different levels. I implore you all to please reach out to him. It will truly make a difference in his recovery.
Our insurance quit paying for Napa Valley Care Center last Monday. We are now in insurance "no man's land" until we get full MediCal coverage. We have been working countless hours on getting Adam qualified for MediCal, Social Security, Medicare, and hoping that Workman's Comp will come through as well. Our insurance will cover outpatient Doctors , so now we are working to set up 9 doctors/therapists that will take our insurance and are taking new patients. We will be responsible for getting him to all of these.
Our family is truly grateful for the ceaseless prayers, caring, and support for Adam. PLEASE don't stop! We need all of you! Adam is a miracle by just being here, and now we need some more miracles to give him his life back. With gratitude, The Kelsey Family.
