Sign In to Show Your SupportSorry for the lack of updates. I had a rough few days. I received my transplant last Tuesday and got to be out patient with daily check ups. I was fine for the first few days. We did a little more exploring in Rochester those first couple days (found a cute little bookstore and some other nice areas of Rochester).
On Friday I started not feeling too great but still manageable. By Sunday I had started running a fever and got readmitted to the hospital. My body wasn't reacting well to the transplant. I continued to have intermittent fevers, inflammation in my kidneys, colon, intestines, and throat. I went through a battering of tests, labs, cultures, etc. Everything indicating some sort of infection was coming back negative.
They continued trying different antibiotics and antifungals. But things didn't really seem to be working. On Thursday I finally stopped having fevers. Friday everything was improved enough that I was able to be released again. Though, I do have to go in every morning for continued doses of antibiotics and antifungals administered via VI, which will continue into next week. All symptoms have improved except for a mild sore throat. All in all things seem to be on the up and I will take it.
Today we checked out a little place on a lake for lunch and will be doing some grilling on our hotel patio for dinner.
