This will be my post until June when he has a 6 month scan.  

December 29th, 2018 was a post final round of chemo scan; January 2nd, 2019 we received the news he's cancer free! He will not officially be declared cancer free until he's had 2 clear follow up ct scans (June and December this year); however, there is no reason for further chemo or any cancer killing treatments based on his most recent scan!!

Last week he started back to work part-time; all went well and I think he enjoyed starting to get back into a routine. Jade has had COPD (it's an umbrella term for lung issues which can include asthma, emphysema and other breathing related issues) for many years and usually around the same time every year, he ends up with what we learned today is called COPD exacerbation. The difference with this year compared to years past, is his immune defenses are low and the usual week to10 days for it to clear, became 2+weeks later and it's worse.  So this morning we headed to urgent care where he received a nebulizer treatment and was prescribed preventative antibiotics (high risk for pneumonia) as well as steroids to reduce bronchial swelling.  So tomorrow will be a rest day at home for him but he should be back at it Tuesday.  He's anxious to get back to work full time so I'm going to guess it will only be another week or so before that happens!

I want to take a minute and thank everyone: family, friends, the incredible oncology team, even strangers (!) for all your love, prayers, support and positive thoughts! We are both so grateful and hope each of you knows exactly how much it means to us!
