Journal entry by Judy Malmskog —
Hi, my name is Judy and I am Jacquline Swenson's (Jackie's) proud momma. On Wednesday, October 25th I received a heartbreaking phone call in the morning advising that Jackie was in the hospital fighting for her life. She most certainly is a fighter.
Jackie sustained four gunshot wounds, One of which fractured her femur, a second gunshot wound to her ankle - fracturing this as well. The third and fourth gunshot wounds were through the shoulder and arm, piercing her lung as well. By the grace of God neighbors called for help and life saving measures were provided on scene - she was able to identify her attacker.
She received a blood transfusion upon arrival to the hospital and has successfully made it through surgery. She remains intubated and not conscious at this time, however her sister's, her father and mom will remain by her side as she continues to rest, heal and fight to live.
Her road to recovery will be extensive, physically she will need significant support to get better. We also acknowledge the mental anguish and torment she must have endured in the moments she was being attacked. I am so very grateful she is with us tonight
