Jacob’s Story

Site created on December 3, 2021

Just over a week before his 22nd birthday, it was thought Jacob just had a cold. The symptoms of coughing wouldn’t go away, the tightness in the chest was thought to be an asthma attack, then the pain in the legs started. After going to the family doctor, a chest x ray and some blood work, he was admitted to the hospital with cardiac and kidney failure, 2 blood clots in his heart and in both legs, fluid on the lungs and surrounding his heart.
This page is to update family and friends on how he’s doing and to give support to Jacob as he goes through his medical treatments.
💚JACOB STRONG💚
Ironically, the green ribbon worn by some brings awareness to kidney disease, organ donation, cerebral palsy, brain injuries, and stuttering. All of which Jacob has.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Julie Roberts

Quick update. Kidney function stable since last check. We still anticipate a transplant in the next 10 years?!! It’s so difficult to say, and only God knows the plans He has for Jacob. He has never let go of Jacob and our faith is strong.
We do ask for prayers for Jacob as this has been very difficult on him mentally since he is so young. It has been a struggle for all of us, but Jacob has obviously taken on the most stress.
Please also pray that he remains healthy. I had Covid earlier in November and now Matt has it. We have done all we can to keep Jacob healthy by isolating at Steve’s house, however, he did develop pinkeye, which infections are always a concern to his retinas and eyesight. Prayers that he recovers from it soon. The last time he had pinkeye he was in first grade!!! Cold and flu season are upon us.
Thank you for all the prayers. We really do appreciate more then you will ever know.
